For 2019-2020 season when the referee awards a free kick, in the usual manner the defensive wall must be a minimum 9.15m (10 yards) away from the ball.

However, there is now a big change – If the defensive ‘wall’ is made up of three or more players all ATTACKING team players must be at least one metre from the ‘wall’;

If the ATTACKING players encroach, the referee will award an indirect free kick.
