A short trip up the road to the outskirts of Wakefield, for Church this Saturday, to what is a really nice set up at Horbury Town in a stunning setting. Church playing in their all sky blue away strip sponsored by Nick Firth Tiles contested a very even game in which only a handful of real chances were created by both sides , leaving both keepers with very little to do throughout the ninety minutes. Church got off to a great start in this evenings NCEL Premier Division fixture at the Simply Log Cabins Memorial Ground. A frustrating 2–0 defeat away at Harworth Colliery this Saturday. A hard fought first half left the score 0-0 at half time, with neither side able to find the breakthrough. Both teams have enjoyed close and competitive matches against each other in the past - and this was to be no different. U16 Whites Girls 'Sykes' out Brunsmeer After Scare
Penistone Church U16 Whites continued their winning start to the season after overcoming a late scare to beat Brunsmeer 2:3 in their SHGWL Div 2 match this weekend. It was a fast and determined start for Penistone who scored early when Izzy Lomas poked home from a corner in an opening spell that saw Penistone enjoy good possession in and around the opposition box. A challenging first away game of the season saw the girls face a strong Crosspool side, with the match finishing 5-0. Despite the result, there were plenty of positives to take from the performance and lots to be proud of. On Saturday 24th October, Jessie B will headline her own set in the clubhouse at 'The Simply Log Cabins Memorial Ground' at Penistone Church FC. The evening will begin around 7pm. Come along and join us for a great evening of music from this local talent. Jessie performed on our Churchfest stage in the summer during our 120th Anniversary celebrations and blew everybody away with her powerful vocals. 120th Fun Day - What A Fantastic Afternoon
A massive thankyou to everybody who attended our 120th Anniversary Fun Day and Churchfest on Sunday afternoon. We were blown away with the attendance, the amazing weather and the fabulous atmosphere that was created. The stall holders and food stalls did a roaring trade, the bar was constantly busy, the bands in our mini festival were fantastic, the kids were kept entertained on the inflatables and on the fire engine, but most importantly our community had a right good royal
