Thanks Mark - Mark O’Neil Steps Down
Penistone Church Women can confirm that First Team Manager Mark O’Neill has sadly stepped down from his role after five years in charge. Mark has been offered an exciting opportunity with Huddersfield Town Women Development Squad, and whilst we’re sorry to see him step away, it’s a move he fully deserves and we wish him every success. Since forming the team back in March 2020, Mark — alongside Steve Stead, Chris Sammon and Mel Shaw — built the side from nothing into what it i

Athersley Rec u21s 7 - 1 PCFC u21s
A very disappointing end to the season for our u21s, who last night, fell to their biggest defeat of the campaign losing 7-1 and being totally dominated throughout by Athersley Rec who with one game left to play can now nick 2nd place in the league table with a win in that final game . Charlie Rogerson was the lone goal scorer for Church on the night, but it came with the score line at 6-0. A poor evening and performance, following what has been an excellent league campaign

Reserves 1- 2 Stocksbridge PS Reserves
Wednesday 29th April 2026 19:45 Last Minute heartbreak for the Reserves as a very good performance against a good Stocksbridge PS side ends in a last minute defeat in the last game of the County Senior League Premier Division Season. Church went 1-0 down early on, but were soon level after a Jack Roberts corner was converted by Church defender Sam Hackett (pictured) The game was fairly even from that point but arguably dominated by Church in terms of chances created. The cha

John Stones to bring curtain down on 10 year City stay this summer
Local Boy Done Good - John Stones will leave Manchester City in the summer, bringing an end to a memorable and hugely successful ten-year stay at the Etihad . Having joined City in 2016 where the English central defender became Pep Guardiola’s second signing, Stones has gone to make 293 appearances in what has been a magnificent decade of service to date. The 31-year-old’s huge contribution across the most successful era in the Club’s history stands without question. To date

U15 Blacks complete their best placed finish
U15 Blacks went into their final game of the season in good form, winning 2 out of their last 3 - but keen to make it 3 out of 4. The girls went behind early to a Bramley goal but that didn't stop them continuing to play their football. With Lil and Emily continuing to develop their high energy midfield partnership - it's giving the forwards opportunity to create . Elsie was unstoppable down the wing, Hattie continuing to link midfield and attack in a no 10 role she is making

U14s Match Report
Our U14’s had their final game of the season facing a strong and physical Sprotbrough side away. A win could see us finish 4th so that was the aim for the day. Both sides had chances in the first half, Penistone even hitting the post. Unfortunately it was Sprotbrough who got the first goal when a corner was defended well but passed back out to the taker and crossed back in again and softly volleyed into the corner of the net with a goal that felt Penistone could and maybe s

Match Report: Penistone Church Women U12s 1–0 Langwith Whitestars It all came down to this final fixture in the battle for third place—and what a way to finish. Regardless of the result, this has already been a monumental season for the girls in black and white. Thrown into Division 2 at the start of the campaign, the aim was simple: compete, improve, and try to finish above the teams they came up with. They didn’t just achieve that—they exceeded expectations. Fourth place ha
