Penistone Church Ladies Blacks were back in action this week as we travelled over to Rotherham to face our hosts Rawmarsh St Josephs. Both teams had been in inconsistent form of late, but it was nice to get back on a grass pitch and, for the first time in what felt like months, play without the rain. Hopefully spring has finally sprung. The game started slowly as both teams tried to get the measure of each other. Rawmarsh had plenty of the ball early on but never really troub

Having played them twice this season in the league and cup and with both games being close we knew we would have to be on top form to take anything from the game. A fantastic performance from the team today, playing with a bare eleven but showing grit and determination to the very end. Millmoor took the lead in the first half, but Penistone kept battling. With their countless chances and domination, they barely let Millmoor out of their own half in the final 45 minutes.
