1906–2026 | 120 Years of Football. Community. Pride.

In 2026, Penistone Church Football Club marks a proud milestone—120 years at the heart of the local community. Founded in 1906, the club has grown from modest beginnings into one of South Yorkshire’s most established non-league sides, built on commitment, resilience, and a deep love for the game.

For over a century, generations of players, volunteers, supporters, and families have shaped the club’s identity. Through every era, Penistone Church FC has remained true to its values: hard work, togetherness, and representing the town with pride on and off the pitch.

Church View has been the setting for countless memories—competitive football, shared moments, and lifelong connections. More than just a ground, it is a place where community and club come together, season after season.

As we celebrate this historic anniversary, we honour our past while looking forward with ambition, determination, and belief in what lies ahead.

Penistone Church FC came into being during a remarkable year in world history. It was the year Rolls-Royce was established, the London Underground entered the electric age, and international sport continued to grow with the 1906 Intercalated Games.

The same year also proved pivotal in global football, with clubs such as Boca Juniors in Argentina, Atlético Madrid, Sporting CP, Torino FC, and England’s Charlton Athletic all founded in 1906—clubs that, like Penistone Church FC, were built on strong local identity and have stood the test of time.
