Away defeat

⚽ Millmoor 2-1 Penistone Church Women’s U13 ⚽

A disappointing performance and result for Penistone Church today as the girls were beaten 2-1 away at Millmoor.

Penistone made the perfect start, taking an early lead through Alyssia, but Millmoor responded before half-time with an audacious effort from almost the halfway line which found its way into the net to level the score.

Millmoor then struck early in the second half when Penistone failed to deal with a corner, allowing the ball to bounce through the box before being tapped home to give the hosts the lead.

It was a frustrating afternoon for the girls, but one they can learn from as they look to bounce back in their next fixture.

The next challenge comes at home against Kiveton, with the two sides set to face each other twice in just over a week as Penistone make the return journey shortly afterwards.

A huge thank you, as always, to our fantastic sponsors Wellhouse Leisure, Conrad Energy and Stocksbridge Aromatherapy for their continued support. A special thank you to Stocksbridge Aromatherapy for kindly donating a post-match wellbeing kit to help with the players’ recovery. 💆‍♀️⚽

We dust ourselves down, learn from it and go again.
