Over recent weeks and months as a club we have been looking to restructure for the next period of time for our amazing football club.
This has been in through many conversations and meetings and about a million WhatsApp messages and was all voted in at last nights Committee / General Meeting.

First up we wish to thank Keith Hackett who has stepped down as Club President to focus on his role at League President for the NCEL. Everyone at the club wishes Keith all the very best and we’re sure to see him again watching on the sidelines and we thank him for all he did over his time as our President.
In the immediate future the role will remain vacant, but we have plans in place to have a President in place for next season.

In turn Ian Richardson has stepped down as Chairperson. Ian took over from Scott 3 / 4 years ago and has loved his time as Chairperson. Ian added, “thank you to everyone who’s supported me as the Chairperson, it’s been a joy to do but like any role I think it is time for someone else to have a go with their slant and fresh ideas. This also comes at a time where I’ve a new job which is taking up a big chunk of my brain power too !”
We thank Ian for all he’s done and we know he’ll be around to support Dave Hampshire, the club and our new Chairperson.

David Elliott will be the new club Chairperson with immediate effect. David joined the club around two years ago expressing at that time how much he’d like to ‘help out’ as from afar he’d seen the growth of our community club. Since then he’s become a clubhouse fixture and he’s missed a handful of first team games home and away, has family involved in our junior teams and along with his wife Sarah are one of the club’s sponsors through Wellhouse Leisure and Sarah’s Ladies Club. Also this year David has visited numerous non-league clubs on non matchdays to get as much knowledge of non-league football as he can making him perfectly placed to step up. Good luck David.

The next change sees Stephen ‘Lenny’ Lenthall step down as vice-chair. Thank you Lenny for all you’ve done over the decades and for those who know Lenny, then you’ll know how much he’ll always be involved at the club to support when needed. But similar to Ian, just sees it as the right time to let someone else step up.

The new vice-chair will be Tom Wright. Tom has been in & around the club since junior football days and will be working alongside David to support the club from mini-kickers to Over 45’s. Already Tom has been able to get support from others to join the committee and volunteer their time. He’ll be a great support to David whilst also able to lean on Ian and Lenny whenever he needs to.

Next up, Steve Stead who has been our Girls section junior secretary will be stepping down at the end of the season. He’s done the role for a very long time and his input and time over the years is in a massive part the reason we have such a successful girls junior team set up now. Thanks Steve for all you’ve done, again we know you’ll still be around the place to support. We will be seeking a new Girl’s section secretary in coming weeks & months.
Thank you also goes to Dean Foulkes, who for several years now has been the Boy’s section junior secretary. Dean has in the main passed the role over to Tom Wright who’ll stay in the role as well as his new one until a new secretary for the Boys is found. Massive thanks Dean for all you (and your Dad) have done for the club over the many years and thanks for the offer to support anyone stepping into the role whilst they find their feet.
No doubt this next few months will see this new structure bed in and as ever, if anyone wishes in anyway to help out and support the club we’re only a phone call, a text or WhatsApp away.
Good luck to all of those above stepping into new roles and a massive thanks for all you have done / doing to those vacating their positions.
The Committee.
