Match Week 2 - Boys U9 Whites

The U9 Whites kicked off their second game of the season against Hillsborough Pumas Away.

The match was a lot more competitive than the previous week with a much improved level of effort all round.

The boys were unlucky not to convert a few more chances, and were punished by a few little mistakes. Overall though, it was a lot more positive performance, definitely improvements still to be made, but more encouraging.

Kellan worked up and down the pitch with tireless effort and determination trying to create chances.

Both Reuben and Carter both played well in the nets, with Carter pulling off a spectacular top corner save in the final moments.

Joseph got stuck in with the tackles and did some great runs up and down the pitch, topped off with a goal worthy of 'goal of the season'.

Well done to this weeks Captain, our No.3, a good performance today and also great in training this week.

Also, congratulations to our No.8 on a great all round performance today and winning our MOM award.

Onto next week, Barnsley Sports Academy away, looking for a continuation of improvement and to go one step further by ironing out a few mistakes and being a bit more clinical up front.
