Penistone Church U12 Girls 0–2 Harworth Colliery

A frustrating 2–0 defeat away at Harworth Colliery this Saturday.

A hard fought first half left the score 0-0 at half time, with neither side able to find the breakthrough. Girl of the Game Ella put in an impressive defensive performance, anchoring the back line and making some crucial tackles to keep Harworth at bay.

There were plenty of positive moments going forward too. Lily came close to opening the scoring with a great effort that whistled past the post, while Emily drove the team forward with some fantastic runs down the wing.

Tilly was also called upon to make a brilliant save from a Harworth penalty, keeping us in the game and showing great composure under pressure.

In a low-quality game, a couple of moments of brilliance gave Harworth the lead. Our girls showed some excellent ball control, technique and passing, but overall, we fell short of matching the opposition for a disappointing loss.

Whilst it wasn't our game this week, there is plenty to build on. The girls showed fantastic resilience and will learn from their tough defeat. With continued teamwork, confidence and hard work, those goals will come!
