PCFC in Uganda - Church Going Global
Quite possibly the best image you will see today.... Look at this amazing pair proudly donning Penistone Church FC shirts out in Uganda. They look so good and we are so proud to see them in our club strip - It really means the world to us. These shirts were sent to disadvantaged kids in Africa by former PCFC ladies player Lilly Bowden-Lovell. Lilly now playing her football for Barnsley but also is known to many at the club due to working in the club house and VIP suite on m

Rossington Main Res 1-0 PCFC Women
A deflating loss today, going into half time 0-0 and coming out strong in the second half. A soft penalty awarded to Rossington Revs made them pip the lead, and we just couldn’t pull it back despite an overall good team performance. ⭐️ PoM went to winger Alice Norman (sponsored in memory of Sandra Norman). Dominating the left wing, putting pressure on the Rossington defence and running her socks off, she generated momentum and several goal scoring opportunities. Thanks again

Final Home Game For The U14s
This weekend saw the final home game of the season for our U14s with a fixture against Sheffield United who’ve had a very strong second half of the season. Seeing Sheffields recent results we knew today was going to be good game for the spectators. Penistone needed to be alert at all times but unfortunately this wasn’t the case for the visitors first goal. With Penistone defender Nat bringing a player down mid way in our half and also tumbling herself, Sheffield took a quick

Match Report:Nether Green Blacks U13s vs Penistone Church Ladies Blacks U13s
Nether Green Black U13s vs Penistone Church Ladies Blacks U13s Our third match in a row away from home saw us travel to face Nether Green Black, who had already beaten us twice this season and sat a place above us in the table. A glorious spring day meant we could finally start looking forward to more encouraging weather conditions. Although the rain held off, the pitch was still extremely claggy in areas, making it difficult for either side to play attractive football. The f

U15 Blacks run the League leaders close!
What a performance the girls put in at the weekend! Penistone came into the game in a run of in different form and had a long period off from Christmas due to a very wet January/February. The girls started the game well and stuck to their gameplan with Layla stepping in between the sticks. The first half was well contested with Doncaster Belles showing strong threats at corners with some excellent deliveries. We found ourselves 2 - 0 down due to these excellent corners and us

Upto 3rd!
Match Report Penistone Church Women’s U12 3–1 Kiveton Women’s U12 A glorious sunny spring morning provided the perfect backdrop for today’s 4th vs 5th clash in Division 2. Both sides started brightly, showing intent with creative play down the wings, and early shots flashed across both goals. It was Kiveton who broke the deadlock with a clever route-one move. A long pass from the goalkeeper split midfield and found their striker, who finished neatly past Penistone goalkeeper

Match Report:Nether Green Gold U13s vs Penistone Church Ladies Blacks U13s
Nether Green Gold U13s vs Penistone Church Ladies Blacks U13s On the road again this week for our U13 Blacks as we travelled to face Division 3 Shield semi-finalists Nether Green Gold. Thankfully the rain managed to hold off long enough for the teams to finally get out on the grass on what was a pleasant but cold morning, although the pitch itself was bobbly and claggy in places. The first half was fairly even with both sides struggling to create clear chances and finding it

6 goal away haul
Match Report: Staveley Miners Welfare 1–6 Penistone Church Women’s U12 Despite the lunchtime kick-off, it wasn’t hunger for food driving the growing confidence of the girls as they continue their charge up the league table – it was a hunger for goals. Penistone started the match at a blistering pace, racing into a three-goal lead within the opening 10 minutes. The girls showed no signs of slowing down either, continuing to press and create chances. By half-time, Penistone had

Match Report: Rawmarsh St Josephs U13s vs Penistone Church Ladies Blacks U13s
Penistone Church Ladies Blacks were back in action this week as we travelled over to Rotherham to face our hosts Rawmarsh St Josephs. Both teams had been in inconsistent form of late, but it was nice to get back on a grass pitch and, for the first time in what felt like months, play without the rain. Hopefully spring has finally sprung. The game started slowly as both teams tried to get the measure of each other. Rawmarsh had plenty of the ball early on but never really troub

SJR Worksop v PCFC Womens U14s
The U14s were back in league action this weekend facing a strong SJR Worksop team. Having played them twice this season in the league and cup and with both games being close we knew we would have to be on top form to take anything from the game. Before kick off both teams were sat mid table, level on points. If either team could find that win it would give them the chance to jump up to 4th in division 1 and set them up for a strong push towards the end of the season. Peni

Women’s First XI 0 v 0 Socrates Ladies FC
A decent point gained in yesterday’s game with a fairly stripped-back squad & limited substitutions. Penistone were defensively sound throughout - disrupting Socrates’ play and offering them very little when it came to goal scoring opportunities. Despite having only one sub, the team finished the match strongly, pinning Socrates into their half in the final 20 minutes and creating numerous chances on goal. ⭐️ POM went to midfielder Paige Town, who may appear quiet and unassum

PCFC Women 0-1 Millmoor Juniors Ladies Reserves
A fantastic performance from the team today, playing with a bare eleven but showing grit and determination to the very end. Millmoor took the lead in the first half, but Penistone kept battling. With their countless chances and domination, they barely let Millmoor out of their own half in the final 45 minutes. On another day, we’d have brought home the points; even the opposition admitted we were unlucky to come away without a result. ⭐️ POM went to Abby Ulley (sponsored by J

Sprotbrough v Penistone Church Womens U14s
After nearly a month without playing due to the bad weather our U14s finally got back out on the pitch for a friendly away against Sprotbrough & Cusworth. With a few girls missing due to district games & holidays it was going to be a tough test for the rest but right from the KO we could see they were all up for it. It was a fairly even but scrappy first half with an uneven pitch making it hard for the girls to keep possession of the ball and string passes together but they

Match Report: Handsworth 3–1 Penistone Church Women U12
A four-game league winning streak came to an end on Saturday morning as Penistone Church Women U12s made the trip to table-toppers Handsworth. Despite a six-point deduction earlier in the week following a team’s withdrawal from the league, Penistone’s spirit, pride and determination remained firmly intact. Starting the day in fourth place, and remaining there after other results went their way, the girls showed once again why they are among the league’s strongest sides. Fast

Penistone Church Women U13 Whites V Wickersley
Our first point of the season! It’s been a tough season so far for U13’s Whites. Promotion last year but the girls have found it challenging to move up a league and start playing 11V11. We have had a few players leave this season leaving us with a bare bones squad of 10! In today’s game we only had 8 away at Wickersley. The girls were amazing. They worked tirelessly all game and showed great fitness. Wickersley played with 10, which showed great class from them, even though t

U15 Blacks Womens nick a win in a close encounter
Its great to be back on the pitch with our coach Derek exceptionally positive from the off as Wolves had actually won a game of football! We were playing today at Charnock Ridgeway and both sides knew we were in for a close game. In an even first half Bea worked hard to close down a clearance and nip in to finish really well to the great delight of the supporting parents. Charnock responded with a equalising goal and a 1:1 outcome was fair on the balance of play. The second h

Penistone Church Women U12 3–1 Frickley Athletic U12 An almost like-for-like contest unfolded today as Penistone Church Women U12s produced a strong team performance to secure a 3–1 victory over Frickley Athletic in a competitive encounter. Penistone made the perfect start, striking early in the game through Gracie, who marked her return to the side in style following a short absence. Win for U18 Blacks
It was a return to winning ways for our under 18’s blacks as they hit the road, away to Dronfield Town. Dronfield Town held the balance of play but chances fell evenly in the first half until Sienna slotted home after some excellent work down the right from Evie. The girls were encouraged to find the next gear and be more positive on the ball in the second half and an outstanding through ball from Eva sent Ava clean through to add the second. Three minutes later Ava added her
