Thanks Mark - Mark O’Neil Steps Down
Penistone Church Women can confirm that First Team Manager Mark O’Neill has sadly stepped down from his role after five years in charge. Mark has been offered an exciting opportunity with Huddersfield Town Women Development Squad, and whilst we’re sorry to see him step away, it’s a move he fully deserves and we wish him every success. Since forming the team back in March 2020, Mark — alongside Steve Stead, Chris Sammon and Mel Shaw — built the side from nothing into what it i

U15 Blacks complete their best placed finish
U15 Blacks went into their final game of the season in good form, winning 2 out of their last 3 - but keen to make it 3 out of 4. The girls went behind early to a Bramley goal but that didn't stop them continuing to play their football. With Lil and Emily continuing to develop their high energy midfield partnership - it's giving the forwards opportunity to create . Elsie was unstoppable down the wing, Hattie continuing to link midfield and attack in a no 10 role she is making

U14s Match Report
Our U14’s had their final game of the season facing a strong and physical Sprotbrough side away. A win could see us finish 4th so that was the aim for the day. Both sides had chances in the first half, Penistone even hitting the post. Unfortunately it was Sprotbrough who got the first goal when a corner was defended well but passed back out to the taker and crossed back in again and softly volleyed into the corner of the net with a goal that felt Penistone could and maybe s

3rd place superstars
Match Report: Penistone Church Women U12s 1–0 Langwith Whitestars It all came down to this final fixture in the battle for third place—and what a way to finish. Regardless of the result, this has already been a monumental season for the girls in black and white. Thrown into Division 2 at the start of the campaign, the aim was simple: compete, improve, and try to finish above the teams they came up with. They didn’t just achieve that—they exceeded expectations. Fourth place ha

Defeat to Millmoor
Match Report: Millmoor 4–2 Penistone Church Women’s U12 A frustrating morning for Penistone Church Women’s U12 as a chance to move up to third place slipped away against a direct and physical Millmoor side. Millmoor’s approach—frequent long balls and powerful throw-ins—caused problems throughout, and it was they who struck first to take a 1–0 lead into half-time. Moments after the restart, Millmoor doubled their advantage, leaving Penistone with a mountain to climb. To their

Brinsworth Whitehill 6 - 0 PCFC Women
A tough battle on Sunday afternoon against second in the league Brinsworth Whitehill. The team put in an overall good performance, arguably better than last week when they brought home all three points, but sadly their efforts weren’t reflected in today’s scoreline against a very strong side. Th eteam sadly coming out in the wrong end of a 6-0 defeat. ⭐️ Player Of The Match went to Fliss Cooke (sponsored by Basement Dreams ) who nullified the Brinsworth attack after being

Penultimate game for the U14's
This weekend saw the U14s go into their penultimate game of this season. We said to the girls prior to the game how happy we are with how they’ve done this season, securing another season in the top division and looking at a mid to high table finish. So the girls were asked to go out there and just enjoy the game. It was always going to be a tough one with Penistone only having a bare 11 players, so there would be no fresh legs to bring on when the opposition made their subs

FULL TIME: Penistone Church Women 1–0 Dearne Ladies A well deserved 3 points in yesterday’s crunch fixture vs Dearne & District. The squad delivered a professional performance, taking the lead after a fantastic press from Cooke and Stead lead to a Dearne fumble, quickly snatched up by Sammon and passed through on goal to Leason-Hurley who showed no mercy in making it 1-0. ⭐️ PoM went to Beth Ayrton who had another class game for the Church. Rossington Main Res 1-0 PCFC Women
A deflating loss today, going into half time 0-0 and coming out strong in the second half. A soft penalty awarded to Rossington Revs made them pip the lead, and we just couldn’t pull it back despite an overall good team performance. ⭐️ PoM went to winger Alice Norman (sponsored in memory of Sandra Norman). Dominating the left wing, putting pressure on the Rossington defence and running her socks off, she generated momentum and several goal scoring opportunities. Thanks again
