🖤🤍Match Day - Under 14 Whites🖤🤍
Wombwell Town 2 - 1 Penistone Church
Our best performance of the season and, on the balance of play, the girls deserved at least a draw, if not all three points.
Unlike some earlier games this season, Church were straight into it from the first whistle and largely controlled the first half. The defenders cleared their lines with confidence, the midfield was always looking forward, and the attackers kept running into space. Olivia in goal was always on hand to sweep things up.
Credit to Wombwell, who kept going throughout and grew into the game the longer it went on. With both sides chasing a winner, they were the ones to grab it. We look forward to welcoming them to the ⛪️ later in the season.
The opposition managers had some fantastic things to say about our girls after the game. It's great reward for a squad that's clearly improving week after week.
After a few weeks on the road, we're looking forward to being back at home next Saturday. Come down and support the girls!
A final big thank you to our sponsors https://sub-core.co.uk 🖤🤍
