Blacks continue their fine form !!

Penistone Blacks 6 Wombwell Town 0

Penistone Blacks delivered their best performance of the season so far with a 6-0 home win against Wombwell - much to the delight of birthday boy Wes 🎉 and his fellow home supporters.

Layla opened the scoring in the first few minutes after a strong start to the game with a left footed finish past the Wombwell keeper.

Penistone continued to dominate the game before Georgia pulled off a great save from a Wombwell counter-attack to preserve the Penistone lead.

Elsie then scored her 2nd of the season with a fine right footed finish to put Penistone two up. Layla then scored her second of the game to send the girls into the break leading 3-0.

Penistone extended their lead shortly after half time with a goal for Bea against her former club. Layla and Elsie also added to their tally , Layla scoring a hat-trick and Elsie finishing the game with a brace. The whole team with Molly and Georgia, who pulled off another great save in the second half,  also kept a clean sheet.

The Penistone girls were outstanding a ALL over the pitch with impressive communication and team-work and obvious connections and partnerships forming across  the whole team. The goalkeepers Georgia and Molly commanding their area . The defence are looking solid with Lily, Emily, Emmy, Imogen and Omniah.  The midfield of Hattie, Izzie, Bea, Brooke and Maisie are dominating games. The forwards are threatening and taking their chances with with great link up play between Elsie and Layla

Huge credit should also be given to the Wombwell girls who never gave up and showed a resilient attitude right up until the final whistle.
