A Message from David Elliott -
Back in 2017 after running from Huddersfield to Wembley, I said “that’s it, I’m done.” Since then it’s been the odd half marathon, getting older, and trying (and failing) to have less stress!
Then late summer 2025 I met up with my old mate Sean Jarvis… and without realising it, I got pulled into “one last challenge.”
This time it’s for the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation and for Marcus Stewart (ex-Huddersfield Town) who is battling MND. We’ve all seen what Rob Burrow and Kevin Sinfield have done — and how cruel this disease is.

So here’s the crazy idea…
Starting Monday 15th June, me and Alan “Booby” Boothroyd are running from Ipswich Town FC back to Huddersfield Rugby Club — that’s a marathon a day for 7 days 🥴
We’re calling it “One Last Time” and should arrive back on June 21st (National MND Day).
As always with me… if I don’t do it, I don’t collect! (And if I drop dead on route… it would be nice if you still pay up 😂)
Every single penny goes to the charity — I cover all my own costs.
👉 If you can donate/pledge, it would mean a lot and I don’t collect if I don’t do it
👉 Businesses – van sponsorship available at £250 per company (with radio & TV coverage planned)
f you can help in any way, it genuinely makes a difference. I promise this really is the last one… the head says yes, the body definitely says no! MND doesn’t just affect sportspeople — it can affect anyone, and it’s a truly awful disease.
Thanks for taking the time to read this 🙏 Its tough times at the moment and no one really wants to read a begging message ☹
As always thank you
David Elliott
