Club announcement - New Commercial Director

As a Football Club for sometime now the committee and some others have toiled over how we can build the commercial aspect of the Football Club. A couple of years ago we nearly ventured into having a commercial manager/director which at the time sadly didn’t come to fruition.

Since then we’ve contemplated advertising for the role, but deep down we knew that the role needed to be the right person and hopefully they would put their hand up to give us some help.

Thankfully, that day came about six weeks ago when David and Sarah Elliott of Wellhouse Leisure, one of the club‘s main sponsors, had their catch up with club chairperson Ian Richardson and club secretary Dave Hampshire.

Very quickly into that meeting Ian and Dave quickly established that David, along with Sarah support, in his short time sponsoring and supporting the club had managed to get what we do as a club under his skin and we’d triggered a passion for him to get involved with the club without us really knowing. David made some propositions to Ian and Dave to which on paper it’s been an absolute no brainer to welcome David on board as our new Commercial Director. 

David has set himself some tough challenges, some high expectations but for those of you who know him you probably wouldn’t expect anything less. In the short amount of time where David picked up the reins of his new role, David has already made contact with some amazing people both for him to glean information from and understand how one day we take the Club further forward than we are now.  On the other hand in the short to medium term they could turn into supporters of the club into sponsors of the club just like David and Sarah have become in the last 14 months. 

We hope and know you’ll all welcome this announcement and in turn some of you reading this in around our club or even the NCEL and wider – be aware that one day David might be picking up the phone to you to talk about his ideas and chat things through ! He thrives on people’s knowledge and opinions. 

The whole club continues to thank David and Sarah for the sponsorship they give on behalf of Wellhouse Leisure and Sarah‘s Ladies Club, and we all welcome David and will support David in the challenges that he has set himself overcoming weeks and months.
