What a top day, leading to a top night and result for England in our opening World Cup fixture… Thanks to everybody who stayed up late to watch an exhilarating performance.
We love these major tournaments and the atmosphere they create, and the fact that our very own John Stones is involved brings a lot of media attention to our club.
It’s great to be able to host ITV, BBC, Sky etc who like to soak up the vibe around our club.
Today was some day….
We had a visit from Bob the Bucket from Royal Oak FC, we had BBC News Channel with us in the afternoon and then BBC Look North into the early evening. it’s fantastic that we get this platform to promote our community club, and we really appreciate all the positive comments we get from it….
Massive thankyou to everybody showing an interest in us …. It’s much appreciated……and huge thankyou to all the junior players, managers, coaches and of course club secretary Dave Hampshire for going on the TV.
We also had time to announce a couple of new signings for our first team
England put on a great show, and eventually settled our nerves in possibly the game of the tournament so far. What a start boys…..
Onto next Tuesday v Ghana.
