On Saturday the first team play their final game of the NCEL Premier Division Campaign.

It's a 3pm Kick Off at the Parker Roofing Memorial Ground against our friends and local rivals Sheffield FC - The Oldest Football Club in the world, who have already secured their place in the end of season play offs and based on current form, must have a great chance of an immediate promotion back to the tier above under manager Vill Powell.

We have been excited about hosting this fixture from the moment Sheffield FC were relegated into the NCEL Premier Division, and have had to wait a full season to do so with it being the last game of the season and all that.

Church following a good draw and point at Pickering Town last Saturday are safe in the knowledge that our league status in the NCEL Premier division is preserved and guaranteed, so a chance to go out with no pressure and give a great account of ourselves in front of hopefully a large and record breaking crowd. We need around 900 or so to break our record but would love a 1000+

To assist we are making this game a 'Pay What You Like' fixture. You can pay nothing or something at the turnstile, we will let you decide the value, but can promise you a great afternoon's entertainment.

So to help us break our record we are sharing this far and wide, and look forward to locals, Sheffield FC fans, Ground Hoppers, football fans in general coming to visit us. There are no local professional league games, so please come and be part of hopefully a large record breaking crowd for our club and an exciting day.

This fixture carries a huge amount of history. Not only is Sheffield FC the oldest club in the world, and as a city the home of football. Penistone also played a massive part in the development of the game within the Sheffield area, with several key pioneers coming form the town and surrounding areas. This is the fixture where the 'cradle' of the game meets the 'crucible' of the game. Come along as we celebrate our towns involvement in this amazing history, as SHEFFIELD SOUTH YORKSHIRE gave football to the world.
