Today we recieved this amazing gesture from Portuguese Primeira Liga football club - Sporting Clube de Portugal ( or Sporting Lisbon as they are commonly known).

A signed commemorative shirt along with a letter of congratulations, which you can see below.

Club friend and former FIFA referee Keith Hackett presented this to Dave Hampshire our club secretary on behalf of Sporting Clube de Portugal.

They share our 120th anniversary having being founded themselves on July 1st 1906, and sent us this signed shirt to acknowledge and commemorate Penistone Church's 120th Anniversary.

A truly magnificent gesture from one of Europe's truly giant clubs, and one that we here at Penistone Church FC are so thankful to receive from them. It is amazing that teams like this from across the continent take up the time and effort to think about a grass roots club in South Yorkshire, England like this.

From all involved here at Penistone Church FC we will be eternally grateful for this gesture , and in turn want to extend our Congratulations & Best wishes to Sporting Clube de Portugal as they too celebrate their 120th anniversary in 2026. Bravo!
