A Brilliant 4-0 Victory for Penistone U12 Girls!

A brilliant result from the girls for their third game and second win of the season, securing a 4-0 win at home against Wingerworth.

We showed great positioning from the offset with Rosalina securing a goal within the first few minutes of play. This was Rosalina's first goal of the season and very well deserved capped off by an excellent all round performance making her today's Girl of the Game.

Shortly after came Lourdes' goal, quickly followed by another one, giving us 3-0 within the first 10 minutes. Excellent effort from Lourdes as always with her speedy, determined run ups.

We continued to keep the opposition at arms length throughout the first half. New player Lilly showed impressive grit up front and all the girls worked well as a team to keep the opposition well away.

In the second half Wingerworth ramped up the pressure, but not to be deterred, Penistone pushed back hard. Wingerworth did have a shot away but keeper Tilly produced a wonder save with her finger tips to keep it 3-0 to us.

Lourdes secured a hat trick towards the end of the second half and we continued to push up, with Emily, Rosalina, Lilly and Emz all taking shots at goal.

We ended with a 4-0 win, with all the team demonstrating their increased effort and resilience. Already the squad is playing with more confidence than last season and showing promise for what's the come. Well done Penistone!
