Girls shine in new kit !

Millmoor 2 Penistone Blacks 3

With no league fixture , Blacks travelled to Millmoor for a friendly - wearing their new Capelli kit for the first time !

Penistone made a positive start to the game with Izzie dominating the midfield battles - which she continued to do all game. Brooke and Maisie were a constant threat down both sides - with Brooke giving Penistone the deserved lead, with a cool finish to make it 1-0.

Millmoor responded with a period of pressure which led to them scoring 2 quick goals. However, Penistone reacted brilliantly continuing to pass and move the ball really well and working hard for each other. Hattie, Bea and Elsie linking the midfield and attack to repeatedly threaten the Millmoor goal. It wasn't long before Hattie levelled the game with a fine finish to make it 2-2 at the interval.

The second half continued to be a really good competitive game with both teams creating chances. Layla linking play well in the No 10 role. Defensively Penistone looked strong - Emily back at sweeper with Imogen, Emmy and Omniah making important tackles and clearances to protect the Penistone goal. Georgia and Molly marshalling their area well and making good saves when called upon. Both goalkeepers kicking well throughout.

Mid way through the second half another great exchange between Maisie and Lilly down the right resulted in Lilly's second goal in two weeks with a lovely finish to give Penistone the lead 3-2.

Both teams continued to play good football - but Penistone were determined to win the game and the game finished 3-2 in their favour.

It was an outstanding team performance !
