The lads came unstuck this afternoon at Golcar , despite a very promising first half performance. It was a pretty close game, played on a heavy pitch in front of a good crowd.

A very even contest which ebbed and flowed with both teams having phases of being on top. It’s fair to say in a game of few chances, Golcar took theirs and Church did not. Our best chances falling to Lennon in the first half, and then Reece & Luca in the second.

Golcar strikers Flynn and Doyle made the difference, the first goal on 55mins from Flynn with a precise lobbed finish beating Harry in goal after getting onto the end of long goal kick that evaded the Church defence, and then Doyle took his chance with a crisp finish after a lovely angled ball onto his chest from Oliver Russon in the last minute of the game.

Both teams were applauded from the pitch at full time.

It was a big day for PCFC's very own George Thompson who having grown up at the club, playing at all age groups from age 6 through to 18, 21 and Reserves made his first team debut at the age of 17, as a 70th minute substitute.
