PCFC 3 - 2 Frickley Athletic - Match Reaction


A very solid performance, leading to a 3rd NCEL Premier Division victory on the bounce against a hard working Frickley side at the Simply Log Cabins Memorial Ground in front of a fantastic crowd of 304.


Church got themselves into a 3-1 half time lead, with 3 delicious Nathan Keighley assists all from the left flank leading to a brace of headed back post goals by Reece High and a Harry Viggars volleyed finish sandwiched in between..


Frickley for a short period got themselves back to level terms with their own back post header from a corner kick making it 1-1 almost immediately after Church had taken a 1-0 lead.


Both teams had good chances in the second half, and Harry Ambler again made important saves to protect the lead in what was his 100th appearance for the club.


Frickley converted a low cross in the dying minutes to give us a nervy last 3 minutes of added time, but the lads came through to win 3-2 earning them a 4th place position in the league table after the initial 5 fixtures, with a return of 9 points.


Man of the match went to Jordan Coduri who again was all over the pitch captaining the side and leading by example with his work rate, quality and commitment.
