Pre-season review part 2

Penistone Church Women's U13s continued their preparations for the upcoming season with three challenging friendlies against quality opposition.

First up were Pogmoor, who competed in Division 1 last season. The girls produced an excellent performance to secure a 3-1 victory.

Just two days later, they faced West End Terriers and once again showed great character, teamwork and determination to come away with a 2-1 win. There were some really encouraging passages of play, good communication and plenty of tenacity throughout.

Today, the girls took on newly promoted Worksop Boys & Girls, who earned promotion from Division 3 last season. Penistone delivered another impressive display, running out 4-0 winners. The scoreline could easily have been more emphatic, with the girls striking the woodwork on five separate occasions.

A really positive pre-season so far, with every game helping the girls develop and prepare for the season ahead.

The squad now enjoys a short break before returning for three final fixtures against Donny Belles, Sheffield Wednesday and North Gawber ahead of the new campaign.
