Church 1 - 3 Campion AFC

A fairly even and end to end fixture at the Parker Roofing Memorial ground this afternoon, but the visitors took all 3 points with them back to Bradford after a goal in injury time sealed the deal, giving a scoreline that looks far more comprehensive than it actually was.

Campion got in front in the first half with a headed goal by Shay Muirhead from a right sided corner, in front of the club house end on 31 minutes. Church were then deservedly level on 42 minutes after a corner was partially cleared to Matty Lee, who jumped on the loose ball and smashed it into the top right hand corner from the left side of the 18 yd box. Church also rattled the bar in the 1st half through Matty Lee.

Church started the second half well and crafted an immediate chance but again lady luck was against Reece High as his effort again cannoned off the cross bar and then cleared away to safety.

Campion managed to regain the lead in the 63rd minute when Ewan Gregson hit a cross come shot from the right hand side that curled in and nestled in the far left corner of the goal.

Church amazingly went up the other end and hit the crossbar for the third time, when a deft lob over the keeper by substitute Nathan Keightley looked goalbound, but amazingly as the ground celebrated the ball somehow bounced up onto the crossbar and away, falling unkindly for Matty Lee who was following up and was cleared to Reece High who then seemed to be brought down in the area amid claims for a penalty which the referee did not award.

In the last minute Church threw everybody forward in search of an equaliser including keeper Harry Ambler for a corner kick. The ball was cleared and Campion broke away and Ben Grech-Brooksbank curled an effort from distance into the unguarded Church goal on 90 minutes.

The lads were clapped off of the pitch and Matty Lee was announced Church's Man of the Match, having an effective game and scoring his first goal for the club.
