Congratulations George Thompson

Massive Congratulations to 17 year old George Thompson who made his Church first team debut this afternoon at Golcar United. George started on the bench coming on as a second half substitute for Jack Cawthorn in the 70th minute.

George has played for Penistone Church since the age of 6, playing at all junior age groups through to his current u18 Blacks side.

George is currently playing his first season as an u18, and also features regularly for our u21 side and Tom Wright’s Reserves. A strong Centre Half/Central Midfield player, George fully deserves his chance today.

He couldn’t have had a more difficult start coming up against NCEL star strikers in Ash Flynn and George Doyle…but looked at home straight away.

Hopefully the first of many and we wish him all the best from everybody at Penistone Church FC
