The lads were beaten yesterday by a quick & strong Liversedge side. The home side looked well and truly like a top of the league outfit this afternoon, as 3 quick goals in the first half put paid to our efforts today.

The lads would probably agree that they didn't get tight enough to the Liversedge attack in the opening half an hour or so , and were made to pay the penalty. There was no shortage of endeavour from our lads, as they ran up a little short v a very strong side.

A special mention to Harry Ambler who despite conceding 4 goals made some truly great saves including a penalty save from Church old boy Anthony Brown early in the 1st half.

The lads lost the first half 3-0, but managed to recover to draw the second half 1-1 reducing the deficit to 3-1 at one point following a foul on Danny Howes and a penalty conversion by Nathan Keightley. Church then had a lively spell, and a great finish by Jordan Coduri looked to be making it 3-2 before the ref blew for offside as the ball hit the back of the net. As Church pushed up, spaces were left in behind and Liversedge broke away in the last few minutes to get a 4th to seal the deal 4-1. In this sequence of play a Liversedge one on one was brilliantly saved by Harry, but the ball broke loose and resulted in the goal of the game.

A 4-1 defeat against arguably the strongest side and performance we have faced this season, and Liversedge look good value as league leaders and favourites for promotion.
