A lovely sunny North Yorkshire afternoon greeted the travelling black & white army this afternoon as they arrived at Mill Lane, home of Pickering Town FC for the last away fixture of the 2025/26 NCEL Premier Division Campaign.
Today was None League Day and our hosts had invited several former players back for a pre game ceremony and this along with the coach from Penistone and the fact it was None League Day generated a crowd of 224.
Church were here having had the support of the Mighty Italian Giants Juventus for None League Day.
Overall a solid Church performance , who were arguably the better side throughout the fixture, defending well and looking the most likely to score without creating too many clear cut chances. The breakthrough came in the 82nd minute with a finish by Mackenzie Stocks from a high floated Jammy corner. Unfortunately as has been the case in several games this season, we snatched a draw from the jaws of victory as Pickering equalised via Coulibaly in the 7th minute of injury time.
The spoils were shared and Church left with a very valuable point as coupled with Bottesford Towns 2-0 defeat today, Church are safe and know that next season they will start again in the NCEL Premier Division.
A massive thankyou to all of the travelling fans and to Pickering Town for their hospitality.
