Our open age team started their season with a relatively comfortable win against a youthful Chesterfield Town. The opposition are going through a rebuild with just 11 players available today. We largely dominated the game from start to finish, Alice opened the scoring in the first 4 minutes with a bullet shot from distance.

After that it became the Emily Sammon show, excellent through balls from a number of sources gave Emily a number of 1 v 1 chances which are never the easiest to score but Emily managed to slide three of them away with confidence, despite drinking her own body weight in pink gin on the Otley Run the day before. Well done Em, excellent hat trick 👏

Molly Trotter made her debut today and was outstanding, after scoring for our under 18’s yesterday Molly walked away with the player of the match award today.

After a difficult preseason today was a really positive result and performance all round, Sarah in goal had little to do today largely thanks to the discipline shown by our back 4, anchored by Sophie. Today was a great way to start the season, well played everyone!
