Penistone Church Women can confirm that First Team Manager Mark O’Neill has sadly stepped down from his role after five years in charge. Mark has been offered an exciting opportunity with Huddersfield Town Women Development Squad, and whilst we’re sorry to see him step away, it’s a move he fully deserves and we wish him every success. A very disappointing end to the season for our u21s, who last night, fell to their biggest defeat of the campaign losing 7-1 and being totally dominated throughout by Athersley Rec who with one game left to play can now nick 2nd place in the league table with a win in that final game . 13/04/2026 - Penistone Church FC Appoint Jordan Rhodes as Club Ambassador Penistone Church FC are delighted to announce that former Huddersfield Town A.F.C., Blackburn Rovers F.C. and Sheffield Wednesday F.C. striker Jordan Rhodes has agreed to join the club as its new Ambassador. A deflating loss today, going into half time 0-0 and coming out strong in the second half. A soft penalty awarded to Rossington Revs made them pip the lead, and we just couldn’t pull it back despite an overall good team performance. ⭐️ PoM went to winger Alice Norman (sponsored in memory of Sandra Norman). A decent point gained in yesterday’s game with a fairly stripped-back squad & limited substitutions. Penistone were defensively sound throughout - disrupting Socrates’ play and offering them very little when it came to goal scoring opportunities.
