Brinsworth 2
Penistone Church Blacks 3
The Under 15's finished 2025 on a high with their best performance of the season away at Brinsworth.
A game of 2 halves saw Brinsworth score twice in the first half - going into half time with a 2 goal cushion. It had been a good competitive half and even though they conceded twice, the girls kept their heads up and were showing signs that they could turn this round.

Andy 'Pep' Woodcock decided to alter the formation at half term and use the advantage of the slope of the pitch to push players forward. The girls started the second half with real intent. The communication and passing showed how much they believe in each other. Following a period of pressure , at a Penistone corner - Hattie squared the ball in the box for Emily to score into the bottom corner to give Penistone a goal back . Game on! The girls continued to push for an equaliser and Hattie broke into the box to fire one past the Brinsworth keeper to make it 2-2. The girls continued to push forward - Lil Storey , driving down the right , before smashing the ball from outside the box - over the Brinsworth keeper into the roof of the net. Much to the delight of the girls and their ever-present army of fans.
The last 15 minutes Brinsworth pressured the Penistone goal - but the girls gave everything as a group to hold on to the win.
It was an incredible team performance with every girl giving their best for the team .
Outstanding performances from Lil and Elsie who were the first ever joint winners of the Girls and Parents Award in the same match !
It was only fair that after a performance like that The Coaches Award went to the TEAM !
The win moved them to 3rd in the table with lots of fixtures to look forward to in 2026 . Merry Christmas to the girls and their brilliant supporters . 🎄
