The lads came unstuck this afternoon at Golcar , despite a very promising first half performance. It was a pretty close game, played on a heavy pitch in front of a good crowd. Massive Congratulations to 17 year old George Thompson who made his Church first team debut this afternoon at Golcar United. George started on the bench coming on as a second half substitute for Jack Cawthorn in the 70th minute. George has played for Penistone Church since the age of 6, playing at all junior age groups through to his current u18 Blacks side. George is currently playing his first season as an u18, and also features regularly for our u21 side and Tom Wright’

The Reserves went down 4-2 this afternoon against our local rivals at Bracken Moor. The scores were level at Half Time 1-1 with Alfie Broughton bagging again for Church. Our second half goal scorer was Will Heath, but Park Steels went on to win the game 4-2. Thankyou to those fans that followed the lads across.

An end to end first half on a flat but very bobbly pitch made for an entertaining game this evening at the Easy Buy Stadium in Barton.
