Leah Walton - The story of a PCFC Legend aged 13…

Leah Walton, whose dad Craig let us into a big secret he had been keeping this week, when he posted on a PCFC Facebook post.

His daughter Leah has recieved a BBC TV The One Show - One Big Thankyou Award. You can see all about it in the video below. A Quite amazing & inspiring story it is too….

Leah is a young lady aged ONLY 13 who works tirelessly for charity.

In March 2022 she saw a young boy, aged 3 on the Football pitch at half time at Hillsborough, Sheffield. The young lad whose family were desperate to raise money for his treatment abroad for Neroblastoma, Cancer.

Leah decided she had to help and raised £16,105 between the date above and September 2023 when sadly Jude Mellon-Jameson died aged only 5 years old. The money raised leftover eventually going to Solving Kids Cancer

After only 10 days of his passing, Leah decided she wanted to carry on with her charity work and got involved with the Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity, simply to say thank you for Jude’s care during his short life.

At the time of writing this, Leah has hit a staggering £63,319 for the Hospital.

That’s over £79,400 to help poorly children, without any sad back story of her own, which sometimes gets overlooked. She just wanted to help a stranger and families of the sick kids of which she’ll never meet.

Leah raised this astonishing amount by Sponsored swims, crafting and selling her wears, such as keyrings, bottle openers, cushions and coasters on Facebook and stalls in supermarkets, shopping centres and Fetes, she also emails bands, sport stars and actors for signed things to raffle/auction off.

Jude used to love stars before his passing, and in her back garden Leah has a star which illuminates every evening in his memory.
