Liversedge 4 - 1 PCFC - NCELP 14/2/26
The lads were beaten yesterday by a quick & strong Liversedge side. The home side looked well and truly like a top of the league outfit this afternoon, as 3 quick goals in the first half put paid to our efforts today. The lads would probably agree that they didn't get tight enough to the Liversedge attack in the opening half an hour or so , and were made to pay the penalty. There was no shortage of endeavour from our lads, as they ran up a little short v a very strong side

Hat Trick for Young Luke Fretwell
Luke Fretwell aged 16 scored a hat trick for the reserves in a 4-1 victory at the Parker Roofing Memorial Ground last Saturday. Thanks to Wombwell Main's fabulous You Tube page, we were able to put a reel of his first hat trick in senior football together to mark the occasion for him. Keep up the good work Luke. Gaffer Tom Wright was delighted with the composed finishing.

Matty Lee signs for Church
After impressing in a friendly against our first team last week, playing for IDA, Matty Lee has agreed to sign for Church initially to the end of the season. He signs on a dual registration with Stocksbridge Park Steels, and we thank them for their support enabling us to put this in place. Matty made his debut for the first team, coming off the bench in the 3-3 draw at Albion Sports yesterday, where he made an immediate impact and impressed as a pacy & direct attacking playe

Reserves 4 - 1 Wombwell Main - Sat 7/2/26
A Hat trick from 16 year old Luke Fretwell and a goal from Alfie Broughton saw the reserves pull off a 4-1 win in wet conditions. It was a great effort by all the volunteers to get the game on following the incessant rain over the past few days. Very well done to Wrighty, Drewy and all the lads. All the match action can be seen in Wombwell Mains as per usual brilliant match day vlog... **There is a bit of swearing contained in the video as a warning to anybody who may be off

Albion Sports 3 - 3 PCFC NCELP Sat 7/2/26
Our first visit to The Myra Shay in Bradford to play Albion Sports in their new home. For the second consecutive game the lads had to contend with an AstroTurf pitch. They put in an excellent first 45 minutes, but amazingly found themselves 0-2 at the half following two cool finishes by the ever alive Nathan Cartman. Church had seen a goal chalked off for offside and Albion's keeper had made a couple of very good saves. Early in the second half a slick Reece High back heel

Liam Clayton Returns to SWFC
Liam Clayton has completed his loan period with Penistone Church and now returned to Sheffield Wednesday Football Club. Liam made a great impression featuring in all 3 of our January fixtures, making a scoring debut from the bench v Wombwell Town at the Parker Roofing Memorial ground under the lights on January 14th, where he grabbed us an 88th minute equaliser in a 1-1 draw, followed by starts at home to Thackley (1-0 win) and away at Bottesford Town (3-3 draw) in our last

Derek can't beat Nature
Derek did absolutely everything he could to try and get the game on at the weekend but a huge amount of rain put paid to the U15 Blacks playing. Derek is currently drawing up emergency plans so that the rain can't beat us in future fixtures.

Muddy Fun at the Caribbean!
Penistone Church Ladies U13 Blacks were finally back in action this weekend away to Caribbean JFC. Both teams doing well in the table and it showed with a close first half where Caribbean managed to sneak into half time one nil up after a first period of few chances and little for either goalkeeper to do. The second half started in the worst possible fashion for Church after conceding almost immediately after the restart with some sloppy play leading to an easy finish for th

Back in Action!
First game in a month for our under 18 blacks at the Memorial Ground and they were back to winning ways in a tightly fought game against Bramley Sunnyside. With two excellent finishes from Sienna and Jasmine, both from nice through balls from Eve the girls won 2-0 in a game that could have ended in any result. Player of the match awards went to Ava and Jasmine but all 16 played their part today. Back at home next Saturday against Hallam Rangers in the Shield.

Penistone Battle but out of the Cup
Cup weekend for the U14s who drew an away fixture against Sheffield United Junior Blades. With Junior blades flying high in division 2 and currently sitting top of the league, Penistone however have had a rocky start back since the Christmas breaks. Playing on a very small pitch compared to what we are used to it was going to be very cramped and this was the case throughout the game, on top of that the girls and the ref found it hard to see the line markings often walking the

Hard Fought Victory
Penistone Church Women U12s 2–0 Aston Swallownest A hard-fought league victory was the perfect response to last week’s cup disappointment, as Penistone Church bounced back in determined fashion on a wet winter’s day. Penistone started brightly and pushed hard from the first whistle but couldn’t quite find the breakthrough early on. Several efforts drifted wide or over, and one dramatic goalmouth scramble saw a certain goal cleared off the line. The game struggled to find rhyt

An Entertaining Draw at Bottesford Town
Church continued their unbeaten start to 2026 in an entertaining game at Bottesford Town. Church took a 1-0 lead into the break following a good burst and finish by Lennon O'Grady, topping off some great patterns of play in the first period. Reece High doubled the lead on the 54th minute with a typical piece of skill, breaking through the Bottesford defensive ranks to finish tidily. Bottesford made some changes from the bench and a quick burst of attacking play led to a pe
